Even though the virtual start to this school year has made things a little unusual for everyone, members of the Class of 2021 will still have the opportunity to have an official Senior Portrait taken this year by a professional photographer to commemorate this important milestone.
Senior portraits will be printed in the 2020-2021 edition of the Marshall High School yearbook. Copies of the senior portraits can also be purchased to share with friends and family.
Schedule - This year’s photos are taking place at Marshall from October 13 through October 23. Most appointments will be after school hours; however, appointments on Monday, October 19th, will be during the school day.
BY APPOINTMENT ONLY - Prestige Portraits has already sent out portrait information including information on how to schedule appointments. Walk-ups and unconfirmed appointments will not be allowed this year. Contact Prestige Portraits at 1-800-445-1189 or prestigeportraits.com if you did not receive your packet.
Procedures - In order to protect everyone’s health and safety, photographers will be following strict social-distancing guidelines. Students are required to complete a health screening before entering the building and are expected to wear a mask or face covering at all times while on the premises—except for the moment they are having their photo taken. (Photographers and other personnel on site will also be required to wear masks or face coverings.)
Sitting Fees - Prestige Portraits offers enhanced photo sessions featuring multiple poses and backgrounds. Although these sessions are popular, they do require a sitting fee, which must be paid in advance. Students will be able to select their desired session type—and pay the fee—when scheduling their appointments on the website.
Prestige also offers a free photo session consisting of two poses suitable for the yearbook. In order to request this free session, students should choose the “Basic” session type. (If the website asks for a sitting fee, students requesting the free option can safely ignore it. All they need to do is let the photographers know when they arrive that they only want the two yearbook poses.)
Attire - In order to further protect students’ health during the ongoing pandemic, Prestige will not be providing any special attire for students to wear this year. All seniors must wear their own dress clothes during the photo shoot. Formal attire such as a solid-colored dress shirt or top works well for the camera. (Jackets and ties are optional.) The photography company recommends that students avoid t-shirts, tank tops, or tube tops.
Purchasing Photo Prints - Prestige will mail sample photos to students’ homes a few weeks after senior portraits are taken. Families will then have the option to order their own copies of these photos at that time for an additional fee.
Questions/Concerns - Please direct any questions or concerns regarding appointments, photo procedures, fees, etc. to Prestige Portraits. Their customer service department can be reached at 1-800-445-1189.
