matthew hanlonCongratulations to French language teacher Matthew Hanlon who was recognized as the FCPS 2022 Region 2 Outstanding Secondary Teacher and one of five finalists for the 2022 Outstanding Secondary Teacher Award!

Matthew’s instructional strategies are innovative and evidence-based and help him embody the FCPS Caring Culture through the relationships he builds with students. Matthew is able to develop strong relationships with students by giving them freedom and choice to learn in ways that affirm their culture and pique their interests, all while providing structure and support to help them achieve success. Matthew’s students describe him as caring, approachable, and kind, and he continually works to create a classroom culture that is welcoming and affirming.
