Principal's Message

09/24/21

Dear Marshall Family,

A few announcements on this wonderful Friday afternoon!

COVID Case Weekly Update

This week Marshall High School had 3 positive COVID-19 cases this week: one teacher and two students.

We ask that you please do your part to keep our school safe: Wear your mask, get vaccinated if you are eligible, practice healthy hygiene, and keep your child home when you they feel sick.

Masks

I ask that you please talk to your child about continuous mask use while in the school building. We are beginning to see some masks either not being warn correctly or being removed while walking in halls and during classroom instruction.

If a student is being non-compliant about mask wearing, they will be asked first, by the teacher, and then (if necessary) by an administrator to comply. If the student continues to not be mask compliant, they will be sent home and mark as unexcused until the student can come to school and follow this very important health and safety rule.

Thank you for your help and support!

Parent Coffees (Optional)

Last Tuesday, I held the Freshmen parent coffee. I want to thank those parents who were able to attend. Over the next two weeks, I will hold coffees for the remaining classes. This is an opportunity for parents and guardians to meet with me and my staff to learn about things that are happening at Marshall. These events are in-person and the schedule is as follows:

  • Class of ‘23 and Class of ‘24 – Tuesday, September 28th from 8:30 am – 9: 30 am
  • Class of ’22 - Tuesday, October 5th from 8:30 am – 9:30 am

Late Buses

Late buses Began September 13th and will happen on Monday’s and Thursdays. Students who are waiting for a bus should do so in the main lobby located at Door #1.

October 13th – PSAT/SAT Day

On October 13th, all 10th and 11th graders will be given the PSAT and 12th graders who opted in, will be given the SAT.

All 9th graders will not come to school this day and will instead be given asynchronous work by their teachers to complete at home.

For the 10th, 11th and 12th graders who are coming to school, this day will be a half day of school.

Our varsity football team will be at Chantilly tonight. Come out and support the team if you are able.

Thank you for all you do to support our students, faculty, and staff. I wish you a restful weekend!

Sincerely,

Jeffrey D. Litz
