Principal's Message

November 17, 2021

Dear Marshall Family,

It has been too long since I sent you updates! I hope this message finds everyone well!

A few announcements for you to peruse.

COVID Case Weekly Update

Over that past 5 weeks, Marshall HS had no reported COVID cases. This week we have three: two students and one staff member.

We ask that you please continue to do your part to keep our school safe: wear your mask, get vaccinated if you are eligible, practice healthy hygiene, and keep your child home when you they feel sick.

Report Cards

1st quarter report cards are now available through ParentVue as a document. Please see the attached graphic for directions. If you need a printed report card, please contact your student’s counselor.

If you need assistance accessing ParentVue, please contact Student Services at 703-714-5422 or our Parent Liaison at 703-714-5482.

Approaching Holiday Season

We recognize that holidays are an important time for reconnecting with families far away and many families travel during this time.   Every year, school absences spike in the weeks before and after the holiday season as families squeeze in a few more vacation days.

Please keep in mind there are costs associated with your children’s education and stress levels when they miss school. Our teachers will be teaching, and our students will be learning, right up until vacation starts and the first day back.  Makeup work cannot replace being in the classroom.

We encourage all students to be in school when school is open and for families to make plans around school closures.  We appreciate your support and your partnership.

In return, we will not be assigning homework that would be due on January 3rd and 4th. We want our break to be a break for everyone. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your child’s school counselor or assistant principal.

HOLIDAY DATES

  • Thanksgiving holiday is 11/24/21 to 11/26/21 (students return November 29, 2021)
  • Winter break is 12/20/21 to 12/31/21 (students return, January 3, 2022)

Sincerely,

Jeffrey D. Litz
