2020-21 School Year
Our "2020-21 School Year" page is where we will post updates, reminders, and other logistical information from Principal Litz and our school admin team to parents during this school year.
Our "Virtual Learning" page is devoted to providing ongoing resources to help students and their parents during virtual learning.
Marshall HS will be using Schoology for the 20-21 school year. This learning management system replaces Blackboard 24/7 and Google Classroom.
Summer Residential Governor’s School Programs
The Summer Residential Governor's Schools (SRGS) are month-long residential programs for current year tenth- and eleventh-grade gifted students in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The 2021 Visual and Performing Arts Summer Residential Governor’s School programs include: Dance, Instrumental Music, Theatre, Visual Arts, and Vocal Music. The 2021 Academic Summer Residential Governor’s School will offer programs in Medicine and Health Sciences, Mathematics, Science, and Technology, Marine Science, Humanities, Engineering, and Agriculture.
Student Health and Safety Guidance
Consistent with Governor Northam’s phased reopening plan for Virginia schools, and guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) has provided guidance to staff regarding school health practices for students.
No-Cost Meals for All FCPS Students through June 30, 2021
Grab and Go service hours are 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Bus routes for food distribution are operating Monday through Friday. Breakfast and lunch will be available at no-cost Monday-Friday at all schools with in-person instruction. Specific information about meal distribution locations and bus distribution schedules are available.
Parent Technology Help Desk
To support families who are working with their children during distance learning, Fairfax County Public Schools now has a Parent Technology Help Desk. The number is 1-833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS). It will be answered by staff 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week. If the help desk is unable to solve the issue on the phone with the parent or guardian, they will enter a ticket on the parent’s behalf and the request for help will be transferred to the appropriate FCPS team.
FCPS Parent and Student IT Support
To support families in distance learning, FCPS has launched a new Parent Technology Help Desk that is open from 7 am to 11 pm, 7 days a week, and is available in 8 languages.
