GCM Yearbook and Newspaper Win Awards
Congratulations to the award-winning journalists of GCM for their excellent work on both the school newspaper and the yearbook.
The GCM yearbook was named a finalist for the Pacemaker award at the National High School Journalism Convention in San Francisco. The Pacemaker is one of the most prestigious awards in scholastic journalism. While GCM was not, ultimately, among the winning schools, this was nevertheless the second year in a row that the yearbook made it to the list of finalists.
Additionally, both the newspaper and the yearbook were awarded silver crowns at the Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s spring convention in New York City, earning significant national recognition for the entirety of GCM's journalism program.
It is a substantial achievement for two publications at one school to make it onto either of these award lists. These honors are a testament to the talent of GCM's student journalists and the high-quality work produced by GCM Student Media.
