Marshall Students Recognized for Creativity in the 2018 Regional Scholastic Art Awards

This year a record number of over 4,200 FCPS student pieces in a variety of artistic disciplines were submitted to Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Of these, a total of 186 Gold Keys, 186 Silver Keys, and 276 Honorable Mentions were awarded. The following six Marshall students earned recognition in the competition:

Gold Keys

  • Renée Schmidt with her piece 'Uncle Blaine' in the painting category
  • Reza Mirzaiee for his piece 'Dog Tagged' in the painting category

Silver Keys

  • Danielle Brog with her piece 'Forgotten Friends Animation' in the film and animation category
  • Regina Guerrero-Perez with her piece 'Fire Light' in the printmaking category
  • Catherine Guo with her piece 'Character Design' in the digital art category

Honorable Mentions

  • Sarah Sakly with her piece 'Love is on the phone' in the photography category

 

The gold key and silver key works will be on exhibit in the Ernst Cultural Center Gallery at the Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale Campus, from February 9 through March 15, 2018.
