Sean Miller

Sean Miller is a Norfolk, Virginia, native who is an award-winning Educator, Artist, and Marketer. Sean is pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Howard University. He received his Master of Education in Special Education from Regent University, Master of Arts in African American Religious Studies from Howard University, and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Design from Old Dominion University.

As an Equity Lead, Sean worked with Fairfax County Public Schools to conduct social studies curriculum audits in cultural responsiveness and antiracism. Sean received the Virginia Council for the Social Studies Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Excellence in Teaching Award in 2023 and George Washington’s Mount Vernon History Teacher of the Year Award in 2021.

 

In 2024, Sean was the author of two books published by Scholastic, "My Glasses Give Me Superpowers" and "The House of Hip-Hop". The books are a part of Scholastic's Our Stories Decodables series, which celebrates diverse voices and elevates foundational skills with culturally relevant decodable texts and targeted phonics practice.

Sean resides in Fairfax Station, VA with his wife and two daughters.
